2013 & Newer Ranger XP 900 Skid Plate
’17 XP 1000, ’13 & Newer Polaris Ranger XP 900, ’15 & Newer 570 XP Skidplate Installation Instructions
1) Begin by placing vehicle on flat smooth surface and place in park position, remove key and place in secure location.
2) Remove factory Polaris plastic skidplate.
3) Remove 5/16” bolts and flange nuts holding Dirt Tracks USA skidplates together for shipment. Save these for next step. Lay out either two pieces for Ranger regular cab or three pieces for crew cab. Front plate will need to be placed on ground first with piece(s) two and three following in sequence. See picture A
4) Use 5/16” carriage bolts removed in step two, place from bottom side of skidplate, install flange nut on upper surface and tighten snug. After snugging, loosen 1/16 of a turn so the plates can slide on each other. See picture A
5) When plates have been assembled to form entire skidplate, place assembly on jack. It can be helpful to use a small piece of plywood between jack and skidplate for support. See picture B. The assembly can now be rolled under Ranger and lifted into position.
6) Begin by installing self-tapping torx drive screws with washers into existing holes in frame. Not all holes exist at this point, just install into existing locations. Also install three 5/16” carriage bolts in nose of front skidplate. See picture C. Do not completely tighten bolts at this time, all bolts will need to be installed first.
7) Once existing hole locations are used to hold skidplate in place, take the provided drill bit and drill all other locations as found in skidplate. Install all remaining screws with washers. The entire skidplate can be tightened into location. Be careful not to overtighten hardware to preventing stripping threads.
