Polaris AXYS / MATRYX Front Torque Arm Relocation
Polaris AXYS / MATRYX Front Torque Arm Relocation
Contents of kit:
1) Qty 2: Plastic block
2) Qty 2: Reinforcement plate
3) Qty 1: Template
4) Qty 4: M6 bolt
5) Qty 4: M6 nyloc nut
6) Qty 10: Rivet
Installation procedure:
1) Remove skidframe from snowmobile.
2) Determine if you have a reinforcement plate on the inside of the tunnel for the front torque arm location as shown in Picture A. If you do, proceed to step 3, if not, proceed to step 10.
Standard Indy Reinforcement Plate
3) In order to raise the front torque arm hole ¾” in the tunnel, the stock reinforcement plates will need to be removed and replaced with the two we provide.
4) We recommend a cutoff wheel to remove the two self-piercing rivets. A 3/16” drill bit should be used for the two standard rivets. View pictures B, C & D for reference.
5) Line up new reinforcement plate provided based upon existing holes that had the standard pop rivets. From our experience, the self-piercing holes created in the tunnel are not precise.
6) Insert torque arm bolt into original hole as well as two 3/16” rivets to verify alignment. Install rivets making sure to place rivets from outside of tunnel facing towards inside. View Picture E.
7) Now from inside of tunnel, use the reinforcement plate as your guide and drill out the remaining three holes.
8) You are now ready to drill out the hole for the torque arm mount. It is recommended, but not necessary, to use a centering tool as shown in picture F. Once you have your hole center located and drilled, drill out to full size which is 10mm (3/8 will work fine too).
9) A counter sink as shown in picture G helps to remove any burrs after drilling each hole.
10) Go to step 12.

11) Place template with lasered “Right” face out on right hand side of snowmobile tunnel. Four holes will fit over rivets in tunnel. Recommend putting a bolt through existing hole in tunnel and through the lower hole in template prior to drilling new hole in tunnel. Picture H for reference.
12) Remove wire loops on front torque arm. These are currently used to support and carry the track over the torque arm preventing contact. After loops are removed, grind or file the surface free of any remaining rough edges. Paint if desired. Refer to pictures I.
13) Position plastic blocks directly over skidframe rails, clamp in place and drill two 6mm holes using block as a template. Pictures J & K.
14) Attach plastic blocks to front torque arm using supplied hardware.
15) Reinstall skidframe. Tighten and align per factory specification.
